JOHN HUGHES FILM FESTIVAL
I have always loved teen films from the 80's, so this projects which at first was just a DVD collection became an identity based of a fictional Chicago-based film festival. I designed custom DVD packaging for the movies, "16 Candles," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and "The Breakfast Club." Each DVD case is directly inspired by the movies, and they are directly connected to the movie. My other deliverables include a poster series, where I used my icons to create dynamic images that refer back to iconic scenes in the movies. To mimic an endless film strip, the icons in the posters line up perfectly and create one big picture when together. The color palette I used throughout this identity was muted and mimicked the charm of the movies.
